J&J Recall Watch: Tylenol Cold Gelcaps Pulled

Johnson & Johnson is recalling from wholesalers and stores almost 2.5 million packages of Tylenol Cold Multi-Symptom Nighttime Rapid Release Gelcaps.

The company says the recall — which doesn’t apply to consumers who already have the drug at home –  stems from the discovery of higher-than-expected levels of chlorpheniramine ammonio acetate (CPAA) in certain capsules.

Dow Jones Newswires reports the compound is formed by the combination of two product ingredients and hasn’t been associated with any health problems.
