J&J Recall Watch: Now It’s HIV Drugs That Smell Funny

Johnson & Johnson is recalling another product because it stinks — literally.

The company said it will pull an estimated 2,000 bottles of HIV/AIDS drug Prezista in four European countries due to a handful of reports of musty or moldy odors, the WSJ reports. J&J is also talking with Canadian authorities about what action should be taken there, the paper says.

The chemical apparently causing the problem, a byproduct of a preservative sometimes applied to wooden pallets used in storage and transportation, has also been blamed for stinking up different types of Tylenol and two lots of the anti-epilepsy drug Topamax.
